To the Spring – and beyond!

April 29, 2013

It’s extraordinary what the sight of daffodils (not covered with snow) can do for morale.  Because the spring has arrived at last, albeit very very late and still mostly on the chilly side, the people coming through my treatment room are bringing with them a very different ‘energy’.  There are far more smiles, much more talk of plans for ‘getting on with things’, and generally a sense of increased optimism and hopefulness.  And that’s despite many people being rather overwhelmed with the overload of having such a backlog of things to be ‘getting on with’.

My own list focuses at this time of year on getting my vegetable garden going (in the past few years a case of retaining a sense of hope despite terrible summers causing disappointing crops).  But there are also plans for doing more Zero Balancing teaching after just finishing the most enjoyable course I’ve taught for years – even possibly teaching a workshop in the Netherlands which will be a first for me.  There are seeds germinating symbolically too – where will we go on holiday? – how will we celebrate a family 90th birthday? – will we actually invite some friends over?

All this is a perfect representation of what spring can be about.  Sowing seeds, nurturing seedlings, planting them out when it gets warm enough – this is what we do with plans for new ventures in our lives.  And now is the time for getting the year planner out and looking ahead.  Leave it much longer, and we lose the momentum that the spring can give us – that boost of energy and enthusiasm that comes with longer days and the sight of a catkin or some blossom.

So, give yourself a boost now – and you’ll reap the rewards in the months to come.  As a patient said to me recently after a spring treatment “The sluggishness has gone and I’m so much more purposeful”.  She grows vegetables too.

Make the most of the spring – call me now on 07970 295177 for a boost!
