Despite the fact that January and February tend to be the winter months that people most dislike, for me this is clearly a time of rising energy as the days slowly but noticeably lengthen.
Tomorrow I start work again, after a break of nearly four weeks. I can’t say this time has been totally restful, but it has felt really important to have plenty of unattributed time in amongst the usual obligations of family, shopping, appointments etc. But now I feel a distinct restlessness, a need and desire to re-engage with life more actively. I’m so looking forward to being in the clinic again, reconnecting with my lovely clients, being constructively and satisfyingly occupied. I’m going to hit the ground running.
I’ve been doing a lot of walking in the past few weeks, and it’s amazing to see how tiny buds are starting to show themselves on trees, how the branches of shrubs are subtly changing colour to something more vibrant. We may still have plenty of winter to come, but under the surface the incipient energy of spring is on the move. Now is the time to make sure your batteries are charging up nicely, so that when the surge of spring begins, you’ll have energy to spare for new ventures.
So my advice to you? Keep warm, exercise modestly but regularly, pace yourself, let your semi-conscious mind ponder on how you might want to make use of the spring … when it comes.
And of course, why not book a winter tonic appointment?
Call me on 07970 295177 to arrange an acupuncture treatment or Zero Balancing session.
I’ve got both planned for myself in the next couple of weeks.
